One of Icelands most famous mountains and easily one of its most photographed. Due to this its hard to find an original composition of the mountain, which in itself makes for a great challenge. After walking around a nearby frozen lake I came across this small patch of broken ice, that reflected the tip of the mountain perfectly.

After initially editing the photo in colour I found that it didn’t have the dramatic effect that I was hoping for. After converting it to black and white, it certainly adds drama to the photo. With the high mountain against the dark skies I had the photo that I was after.
